Failure Stories - Post 2.

Internships! During my MTech in structural Engineering, in third semester, we all were asked to do mandatory internships as per AICTE. I went to a Structural Consultant in Bangalore directly in person. As I hated sending resume via email and just wait for their reply (as many Freshers like this way as it is less cumbersome then visiting companies in-person). The Structural Consultant & head of the design consultancy allowed me to do Internship at his Consultancy. I use to leave my room for internship morning 8:30 am and return by 8:30 pm. & It was a unpaid one (I wasn't provided any stipend) also it was my second internship. I already had my first 3 months full Internship done. Was doing this one just to utilize my remaining few time as well as I was sure of getting good exposure here too. During My Internship at that Consultancy firm, many live Projects use to come. One Such proj...

Everything you need to know about Finding Internships!

Image
Since I stay in Bangalore, I’ll be telling you what the culture here is for doing an internship. How to find them, where to find and the Procedure. It should be more or less the same for any other city as well. So, it was in the 2 nd  year of My Master’s (3 rd  sem) that required an internship to be done as a mandatory part of the course. So in the holidays of my 2 nd  sem, I started searching and gathering information about it. I made a list of Companies & consultancies that offer Internships to Structural Engineering students. And short-listed the best names to work in based on my knowledge of knowing a few good names in the field. I went in-person to those companies with my resume and possibly ready for an interview (if taken). So I went In-person to enquire about internships to companies (without any prior any Appointment). Few of the companies didn’t entertain it as they don’t allow directly meeting without a scheduled appointment. But few companies did. So t...
